ArcheTOM® was designed as a user-friendly, ergonomic productivity and navigation tool, which can prove very useful to organize, share, access and integrate business processes in line with the eTOM framework from the TeleManagement Forum (TMF).
The ArcheTOM Productivity Tool can prove to be very useful as a complementary business process management tool, it can also serve as a dynamic process repository to design and improve the company’s business processes, as well as a user-friendly eTOM navigator and knowledge management tool.
This tool can also be used as an eTOM based business process performance management framework, as a classification scheme for enterprise business processes that are aligned with the TMF standard. The tool can also be very useful if used within an Enterprise Architecture initiative to support the documenting of requirements and definition of the organizational structure within the business domain.
KEY COMPONENTS
The tool consists of a user friendly interface which articulates three different views that provide a navigation capability across the eTOM model. The first two views reproduce levels 1 and 2 of the eTOM, whilst the third view provides a detailed insight into the process description and attributes, it represents the entry point to work on a particular process or group of processes.
The tool provides up to seven hierarchical levels for process decomposition and two distinct windows to work on process attributes and attached objects. This view also provides a “micro-navigation” capability across all hierarchy levels.
